“My kid is the star of the basketball team, gets “A’s” on everything, and has perfect friends.”
Um…no, he’s not, and no he doesn’t. Other parents will see right through these claims and most likely will run the other way.
While this might be true for a very small percentage of students, this is not usually the case with students who have varying degrees of cognitive or physical differences. Being genuine is what our special families need—we’re all we’ve got!
